ADC Must Choose Prepared Candidate for 2027 Elections

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, stated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) must present its most prepared candidate for the 2027 presidential elections. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Frank Shaibu, Abubakar noted that the ADC's choice should not be a mere political exercise but a historical responsibility, especially as Nigeria faces significant economic hardship and insecurity.

He emphasized the need for a candidate who understands governance practically and can negotiate globally to create jobs and manage national crises. Abubakar urged ADC delegates to consider their choice carefully, stressing that the candidate must possess a proven track record of governance and economic reform.

He warned against selecting a candidate based solely on social media popularity, asserting that Nigeria requires a leader who can unify diverse interests and effectively address the country's pressing challenges.
