Tensions Rise as Ministers Seek Tinubu's Endorsement for 2027

Tensions are escalating within Nigeria's Federal Executive Council (FEC) as ministers and political appointees seek endorsements from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the upcoming 2027 elections. Several top government officials, including Adebayo Adelabu (Oyo governorship), Bosun Tijani (Ogun governorship), Said Alkali (Gombe governorship), Muhammad Ali Pate (Bauchi governorship), Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (Bauchi governorship), Abubakar Kyari (Borno governorship), and Bernard Doro (Plateau North senatorial seat), are reportedly preparing to resign to pursue their political ambitions. The lack of presidential endorsement creates a dilemma for these appointees, especially those facing strong gubernatorial opposition in their states.
