2027: Replacing Tinubu with Jonathan not solution to Nigeria’s problems – Farotimi

Human rights activist lawyer Dele Farotimi has rejected the idea of replacing Bola Tinubu with former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2027, stating that Nigeria's problems extend beyond individual leaders. In an interview with Channels Television, Farotimi emphasized that simply changing personnel without addressing the country's structural issues would not lead to meaningful progress.

He criticized the tendency to recycle leaders, noting that even multiple Goodluck Jonathans would not solve Nigeria's problems without addressing the root causes. Farotimi called for a focus on strengthening systems and institutions rather than depending on recycled politicians for change.

He stressed the need for systemic reform, including improvements in education, security, agriculture, and telecommunications, to truly address Nigeria's challenges. Farotimi urged Nigerians to demand genuine change and not rely on past leaders for salvation.
