Peter Obi Urges Unity Among Opposition to Rescue Nigeria

On a press conference held in Abuja, Peter Obi, a prominent leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), called for urgent unity among opposition parties and Nigerians to address what he described as a historic national crisis under the current administration. Obi criticized the opposition for their lack of consistent voice and solidarity, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to rescue the country.

He labeled the present government as the worst in Nigeria's history, alleging a collapse across various arms of governance, including the judiciary. Obi highlighted alarming security issues, citing recent killings: 34 people in Kebbi, 15 in Zamfara, and 20 in Adamawa.

He also pointed out the worsening economic situation, claiming that poverty has significantly increased over the past two and a half years, with a dramatic rise in the number of Nigerians living in poverty. Obi expressed concern over food insecurity and the impact of cheap imports on local farmers.

He concluded by commending opposition leaders for their collaborative efforts and urged Nigerians to demand accountability and change.
