Peter Obi Raises Alarm Over Nigeria's Rising Insecurity

Peter Obi, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former governor of Anambra State, has voiced serious concerns regarding the escalating insecurity in Nigeria. In a statement, he criticized the nation's leaders for their silence as violence spreads across various states, including a recent attack in Ngosh community, Borno State, where terrorists reportedly overpowered soldiers, resulting in the deaths of security personnel and the abduction of civilians, including 100 women and children.

Obi highlighted that insecurity is no longer confined to remote areas, as even the Federal Capital Territory experienced a wave of terror, with 19 citizens abducted in an attack in Kubwa, Abuja. He lamented the government's failure to honor fallen soldiers and called for urgent action to address the security challenges facing the nation.

Obi accused the political class of being more focused on electoral politics than on the pressing security issues, urging for leadership that prioritizes the safety and welfare of Nigerians.
