Rivers State Backs Tinubu for 2027 Election, Says Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, declared on Tuesday during his monthly media chat in Abuja that Rivers State is firmly behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid for the 2027 general election. Wike asserted that Tinubu is the only candidate capable of winning Rivers State, emphasizing that political calculations excluding Tinubu should not consider Rivers.

He revealed that a coalition comprising members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), Action Alliance (AA), and other political groups has been formed to support Tinubu and consensus candidates for legislative elections. Wike stressed that the coalition aims to prioritize the interests of Rivers State over partisan politics, stating, “If anybody is counting Rivers, go now and cancel it.

The only person that can count Rivers is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” He dismissed claims that the coalition was meant to strengthen any political party, asserting its goal is to secure more federal projects and development for Rivers State.
