Wike: Only Tinubu Can Win Rivers State in 2027 Elections

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, declared during a media chat in Abuja that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the only presidential candidate capable of winning Rivers State in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Wike urged that any calculations regarding the election should exclude Rivers State unless they pertain to Tinubu.

He revealed that a coalition has formed among politicians from various parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), and Action Alliance (AA), to support Tinubu's re-election. Wike emphasized that the coalition aims to benefit Rivers State rather than strengthen any single political party.

He expressed confidence in the coalition's expansion and its commitment to ensuring that Rivers State continues to receive federal support. Wike also reflected on his political experience since 1999 and criticized the overwhelming deployment of federal security forces during the 2019 governorship election in Rivers State.
