Sam Amadi Announces Gubernatorial Bid for Imo State

Sam Amadi, the former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has announced his candidacy for the Imo State gubernatorial election set for November 2027. Amadi made his intentions known in a video shared on social media on Friday, where he expressed his commitment to transforming Imo State's economy and technology.

He is a staunch supporter of Peter Obi, the presidential aspirant from the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). Although Amadi was urged by friends and associates to run for the Imo East senatorial district, he declined, stating his focus on the gubernatorial race.
