APC Governors Fear Wike's Coalition May Harm Tinubu

Sumner Sambo, the Director of Politics at Arise News, stated that some governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) are apprehensive about the coalition being formed by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, Sambo noted that these governors fear that voters may struggle to differentiate their choices across various political parties when casting their ballots for presidential, governorship, and other candidates.

He expressed concerns that Wike's political maneuvers could harm President Tinubu's electoral prospects. Additionally, Sambo mentioned that the emergence of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate from Rivers State could significantly influence voting patterns in the state.

He cautioned Wike against underestimating the political influence of opposition figures and emphasized the diverse political landscape in Rivers State.
