South-West APC Targets 10 Million Votes for Tinubu

On June 20, 2023, Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Leader and Chairman of the Ekiti APC, announced the party's goal to mobilize at least 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. This declaration was made during the inauguration of a 57-man governorship election campaign council in Ado-Ekiti, aimed at supporting the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Bamidele emphasized the need for strategic development projects and programs to affirm the leadership of Oyebanji, who has achieved unprecedented milestones in Ekiti State. He noted that the APC has a significant task ahead, not only to re-elect Oyebanji but also to ensure a strong showing in the general elections scheduled between January 16 and February 6, 2027.

The party plans to increase voter registration efforts, targeting a population of 3.8 million residents in Ekiti, with a current voter base of 987,647 as of 2023.
