Akpabio Urges South-South to Support Tinubu in 2027

During the APC South-South zonal congress held in Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday, Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, called on stakeholders from the South-South geopolitical zone to ensure they deliver the highest votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. Akpabio expressed gratitude to Tinubu for recognizing the South-South region, which has not produced a Senate President in 45 years.

He emphasized the need for unity among the six governors of the South-South and highlighted the importance of the region's support for the APC. Akpabio noted that the South-South must focus on the quantum of votes they can deliver and reiterated that the region should be treated equally within the party.

The congress also saw the re-election of Victor Giadom as the South-South National Vice Chairman, alongside the election of other new executives, including Ita Udosen as zonal secretary and Samuel Nwanosik as public secretary.
