2027: ‘They want to rebrand failure’ – Farotimi on Jonathan’s return

Frontline lawyer Dele Farotimi criticized the potential rebranding of former President Goodluck Jonathan by politicians aiming for his return to office in 2027. Farotimi questioned the rationale behind this move, stating that Nigerians had valid reasons for voting Jonathan out in 2015.

He emphasized that expecting Jonathan to be a miracle worker would lead to disappointment, as the country's problems had worsened during his tenure. Farotimi expressed disbelief that people were considering going back to a politician who had been vilified and labeled in the past.

He stressed that the challenges facing Nigeria went beyond a mere change in personnel and required a systemic overhaul. Farotimi warned against rebranding failure from 2015 as a saint and savior in 2025, urging for a focus on genuine change and progress.
