Amaechi Critiques Tinubu's Leadership Amid Economic Hardship

Rotimi Amaechi, a former minister, expressed his discontent with Bola Tinubu's administration, attributing the current economic hardship in Nigeria to Tinubu's policies. Amaechi stated that Nigerians can no longer afford to choose leaders based on ethnic or religious lines, emphasizing that the country is suffering under the current presidency.

He questioned Tinubu's motivation to contest in the upcoming elections, stating, "I don’t know why he’s contesting." Amaechi called for a rejection of identity politics and urged Nigerians to vote based on merit. He also mentioned his preference for a direct primary process for the upcoming ADC presidential primaries, while accepting a consensus arrangement if it favors him.

Amaechi encouraged a performance-based evaluation of candidates, suggesting that the next leader should be capable of delivering results and turning the country around within four years.
