SDP Chieftain Adebayo Opposes Tinubu for 2027 Election

During an Iftar gathering in Abuja on Thursday night, Adewol Adebayo, a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and former presidential candidate, expressed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not win the 2027 presidential election. Adebayo urged that the next leader must prioritize the nation's interests over personal ambitions.

He emphasized the importance of civic engagement and voter participation in the electoral process, aiming for the highest voter turnout in Nigeria's democratic history. Adebayo warned against any attempts to manipulate electoral rules and stressed that the electoral process must remain transparent and credible.

He also called on President Tinubu to reflect on the significance of Ramadan and ensure the electoral process is open and fair. Sadiq Umar Gomb, the SDP's national chairman, supported Adebayo's statements, highlighting the need for a robust democracy and the importance of citizens' confidence in the electoral process.
