Adebayo: Nigeria Must Win in 2027 Elections

Adewale Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), stated that Nigeria should emerge as the ultimate winner in the 2027 elections. Speaking at a dinner for SDP leaders in Abuja, Adebayo noted that neither he nor President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is guaranteed victory, emphasizing that true power belongs to God.

He urged political leaders to recognize their duty to encourage citizen participation in the electoral process, highlighting the importance of the upcoming 2027 general elections achieving the highest voter participation rate in Nigeria's history. Adebayo cautioned against the mindset of manipulating electoral laws to favor certain entities, asserting that the nation should win rather than any individual.

Additionally, SDP National Chairman Sadiq Umar Gomb called on the government to listen to citizens and create transparent electoral laws to ensure free and fair elections. Yusuf Dantal, the chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, urged Tinubu to amend recent electoral laws to promote inclusive democracy.
