Tinubu, Olubadan Not Endorsing Oyo Governorship Candidates

Bayo Adelabu, a governorship aspirant from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, stated that neither President Bola Tinubu nor the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has endorsed any candidate for the upcoming 2027 governorship election. In a statement made on Thursday, Adelabu dismissed reports suggesting that Tinubu had backed a preferred candidate, labeling such claims as false and urging party members to ignore them.

He emphasized that the presidential endorsement process would not favor any special interests and that the gubernatorial contest remains open to all interested candidates. Adelabu also noted that the president would engage with party stakeholders to reach a consensus, but he acknowledged the challenges in achieving such consensus directly.

He further refuted rumors of the Olubadan endorsing any aspirant, asserting that these were mere rumors and should not be believed. Adelabu, who recently resigned from his ministerial position to pursue the governorship, aims to focus on inclusive governance for the people of Oyo State.
