Adelabu Dismisses Consensus Rumors for Oyo 2027 Race

Adebayo Adelabu is confirmed as a top contender for the Oyo State governorship race in 2027, according to his aide, Femi Awogboro, who has dismissed rumors regarding a consensus candidate. Awogboro clarified that claims made by Sharafadeen Alli about the adoption of a consensus candidate were untrue and misleading.

He emphasized that no significant political decisions are made without Adelabu's presence, particularly during a recent meeting in Lagos that coincided with a Sallah visit to President Bola Tinubu. The aide noted that the process of selecting a candidate requires extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across Oyo State.

Awogboro urged party members to remain calm and continue supporting Adelabu, highlighting his experience and the need for strong leadership in the upcoming elections. The support of the current governor, Seyi Makinde, is also noted as a critical factor in the race.
