Tinubu Submits Nomination Form for 2027 Election

President Bola Tinubu submitted his EC9 nomination form to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the upcoming 2027 presidential election, scheduled for January 16, 2027. In the educational qualifications section, he listed only his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration from Chicago State University, obtained in 1979, while leaving the sections for primary and secondary school qualifications blank.

Supporting documents included copies of his BSc degree certificate and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate. Tinubu, born on March 29, 1952, in Lagos, described his occupation as "Politician" and detailed his employment history, which includes working at Mobil Nigeria Limited from 1983 to 1992 and serving as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.

He currently holds a position with the Federal Government of Nigeria since 2023 and declared he has never been dismissed from public service. The publication of his nomination documents initiates a period for public scrutiny, allowing challenges to the information provided under Section 33 of the Electoral Act.
