Umahi Advocates Unity in APC for 2027 Elections

David Umahi, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Ebonyi State, is leading efforts to promote peace and unity among party members in preparation for the 2027 elections. In a statement issued late Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze, Umahi expressed concern over the need for collaboration to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and support for the current governor, Francis Nwifuru.

He clarified that there is no directive from President Tinubu to halt presidential aspirants from purchasing nomination forms, emphasizing the democratic rights of aspirants. Umahi highlighted the necessity for internal democracy and peaceful engagement among party members, urging the governor to facilitate a consensus-building process.

He reiterated the importance of unity within the APC, stating that collective efforts are essential for the party's success in the upcoming elections and that loyalty should remain with the president rather than individual ambitions.
