Nwifuru Dismisses Rift with Umahi Ahead of 2027 Elections

Governor Nwifuru of Ebonyi State addressed speculation regarding a rift with former governor David Umahi, labeling such claims as baseless and the work of individuals attempting to sow discord. Nwifuru emphasized the cordial working relationship he maintains with Umahi, who is committed to advancing progress in the state.

He reiterated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains united and will treat all aspirants fairly in line with agreements reached among party stakeholders. Nwifuru assured that outstanding issues related to consensus candidates would be resolved amicably and plans to meet with aspirants in due course.

He also stated that he is not concerned about seeking re-election, indicating that the APC will not repeat mistakes made in the 2023 elections. Nwifuru made these declarations during the commissioning of various projects, including a classroom block and street lights, with notable attendees such as Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, and APC state chairman, Stanlei Okoro Emegha.
