ADC Confident Atiku Will Defeat Tinubu in 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), through its National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, declared that it does not require a coalition with other political parties to secure victory in the 2027 general elections. Abdullahi made this statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.

He emphasized the ADC's commitment to building a robust grassroots structure and presenting itself as a credible alternative to the electorate, asserting that Nigerians desire a party that addresses their challenges directly. Abdullahi expressed confidence that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar possesses the necessary qualities to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming elections, citing Atiku's experience and economic understanding.

He clarified Atiku's stance on fuel subsidy removal, stating that Atiku opposes abrupt removal without safeguards and advocates for a phased, people-centered approach. Abdullahi criticized the Tinubu administration for mismanaging the subsidy removal, which has led to increased inflation and hardship, and confirmed that the ADC is mobilizing members nationwide to contest all elective positions in 2027 independently.
