ADC Voices Distrust in INEC for 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly declared its lack of trust in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to safeguard its votes in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, articulated this sentiment during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He recounted his experience running for Senate in the 2023 election, where the party was assured of automatic result transmission to the IReV, which ultimately failed due to a technical glitch. This experience has led the ADC to adopt a more vigilant approach, stating they will independently collate their votes to ensure accuracy.

Abdullahi emphasized that the party will only accept results that reflect the true votes from polling units, indicating a significant shift in their strategy to protect their electoral interests.
