Wike's PDP Faction Withdraws Support for Tinubu Ahead of 2027

Nyesom Wike's faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has officially withdrawn its support for President Bola Tinubu in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. This announcement was made by Jungudo Mohammed during an interview on Monday, where he emphasized that the PDP intends to present its own presidential candidate.

This stance contradicts Wike's previous position, which indicated that the faction would support Tinubu in the upcoming elections. Additionally, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, during a meeting with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, accused Wike of being responsible for the crisis within the PDP.

Makinde highlighted that party members should identify ministers who back Wike's faction and agree to support Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
