Women Empowerment Key to Nigeria's Political Future

During the inauguration of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Leadership Consult Forum in Abuja, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu emphasized that women possess the capacity to transform Nigeria's political landscape.

He highlighted the critical role women play in determining the outcomes of future elections and encouraged female youth to actively pursue leadership positions. Anyanwu announced a PDP initiative aimed at engaging at least 5,000 female youth in Imo State over the next three months, which includes training in political orientation and providing tools such as laptops and mobile devices to strengthen grassroots mobilization.

He urged young women to leverage social media platforms to promote political awareness and civic engagement. Ibrahim Bala Aboki, the PDP National Youth Leader, revealed that the newly inaugurated female youth wing operates at national, state, and local government levels, comprising an estimated 144,315 members nationwide.

The initiative aims to strengthen the PDP's grassroots base ahead of the 2027 general elections.
