APC's Commitment to Women's Opportunities Ahead of 2027

Surajudeen Basiru, the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirmed the party's commitment to enhancing opportunities for women in Nigeria during a keynote address titled "Renew Hope" at the Global Women Summit 2026 held in Rome, Italy. He called on Nigerian women in the diaspora to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu's administration and its reform agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Basiru highlighted the significant contributions of women in various fields, including academia, medicine, law, and entrepreneurship, and emphasized their role as active stakeholders in Nigeria's economy. He urged women to foster civic engagement, counter misinformation, and mentor young women to expand the party's outreach.

The APC aims to increase women's participation in political leadership and policy formulation, believing that inclusive leadership will lead to better governance outcomes. Basiru also noted the APC's achievements under Tinubu's administration, including economic reforms and infrastructural projects, and encouraged diaspora women to support the party's initiatives beyond 2027.
