Oyo APC Aspirants Reject Alli's Governorship Claims

Six governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, known as the G6, have publicly disagreed with Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli regarding his assertion that they have softened their positions and are embracing reconciliation efforts ahead of the 2027 governorship election. The aspirants, which include former Deputy Governor Engr.

Rauf Olaniyan, Engr. Hakeem Alao, Dr.

Ayobami Lam-Adesina, Barrister Akeem Agbaje, Mr. Ololade Bakare, and Barrister Musibau Asanike, stated that no consensus has been reached on the party's governorship ticket.

They emphasized that Alli should not present himself as the APC candidate, as discussions are still ongoing. Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, expressed optimism about healing divisions within the party during a media engagement in Ibadan.

However, the G6 distanced themselves from his remarks, asserting that they remain committed to a fair candidate selection process and that the APC in Oyo State has not yet produced a governorship candidate.
