Youth Leader Chukwu Advocates for Younger Nigerian President

Hon. Ez Onyebuchi Chukwu, the chairman of the National Youth Leader Forum and a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), called for increased political inclusion of Nigerian youth during a discussion on the 2027 general elections.

He emphasized that Nigerian youth, who constitute 60 percent of the country's population, play a crucial role in various sectors, including technology, business, and entertainment. Chukwu criticized the current political culture that sidelines youth and urged for a younger presidential candidate below the age of 60 for the 2031 elections.

He stated that youth should no longer be mere spectators in national affairs and called for genuine inclusion practices to empower young Nigerians. Chukwu also urged media organizations to amplify the voices of competent young leaders rather than focusing on negative stories about youth.

He concluded that the future of Nigeria largely depends on how the country treats its young population.
