YPP Sets Schedule for 2026 Congresses and Primaries

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has released details regarding its upcoming congresses, primaries, and national convention, following a decision made during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on the 25th at the party's national secretariat in Abuja on Friday. The ward congress is scheduled for May 21, 2026, followed by local government congresses on May 22, 2026, and state-level congresses on May 23, 2026.

The primaries for the House of Assembly will take place on May 24, 2026, while those for the House of Representatives and Senate are set for May 25, 2026. The governorship primaries will occur on May 26, 2026, and the national convention for presidential primaries is scheduled for May 30, 2026.

The party has announced varying nomination fees for different positions: House Assembly (₦1.5 million), House of Representatives (₦3 million), Senate (₦8 million), Governorship (₦20 million), and Presidential (₦50 million). Additionally, the NEC approved a 50% concession on nomination fees for young aspirants under 40, women, and persons with disabilities.

The sale of nomination forms will commence immediately.
