Abbas Mimiko: Zenith Labour Party Active for 2027 Elections

Abbas Mimiko, a representative of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), declared that the party is not dead in Ondo State and is actively preparing for the 2027 general elections. Speaking to journalists in Ondo town, he emphasized that the party is strategically positioning itself and maintaining discipline across the 18 local government areas in the state.

Mimiko dismissed allegations from the Independent National Electoral Commission regarding the party's deregistration due to inactivity, asserting that ZLP remains robust at the national level. He commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for pursuing significant projects like the seaport and bitumen development initiatives, describing them as bold long-term projects.

However, he noted that despite improvements in federal allocations to the state, the development outcomes have not yet matched the trajectory established during his brother, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko's administration, particularly in healthcare, education, and social intervention programs.
