Seyi Makinde Promises People-Centric Governance for 2027

Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), asserted that the 2027 presidential election will be decided by the Nigerian populace, not by wealthy individuals, during the APM North-Central Town Hall Meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State. He emphasized that the election outcome will not depend on billionaires or financial resources but on the people's will against issues like hunger and poor governance.

Makinde shared his rigorous schedule, highlighting the energy required for governance, and promised to implement special programs for vulnerable groups. He outlined a "reset agenda" focusing on four key areas: security, education, economy, and the socio-political environment, asserting that significant changes could be achieved within four years.

Makinde criticized the federal government's economic policies and questioned the effectiveness of increased funds from the Federation Account in combating hunger. He expressed confidence in leading a transitional government of national unity aimed at sustainable development starting May 29, 2027.
