Makinde Announces Nationwide Campaign for 2027 Presidency

On Saturday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who is also the presidential candidate for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), declared that his ambition to lead Nigeria in 2027 will not be limited to any specific region. This statement was made in Eruwa after he and his wife, Tamunominini Makinde, were conferred with the traditional titles of Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland and Yeye-Aare Asoludero, respectively.

Makinde expressed his intent to engage with citizens nationwide to present his vision for good governance and development. He emphasized the importance of political realignment ahead of the 2027 elections and called on traditional rulers to avoid partisan politics, urging them to treat all political actors equally.

The ceremony took place at the newly commissioned palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola, and was attended by various dignitaries, including Debo Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, who praised the governor for his development initiatives in Ibarapaland.
