21 Kano Lawmakers Defect from NNPP to APC in Mass Political Move

In a significant political development, 21 members of the Kano State House of Assembly officially defected from the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The lawmakers made their defection announcement on Monday, with the mass defection occurring in Rimi Gado Local Government Area of the state.

This move follows the resignation of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf from the NNPP, citing prolonged internal crises and legal disputes that weakened the party's cohesion nationwide. Governor Yusuf is expected to formally join the APC on Monday.

Among the lawmakers who defected are notable figures such as Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore, Deputy Speaker Muhammad Bello Butu, Major Leader Lawan Hussain Dala, Deputy Major Leader Garba Shehu Fammar Kibiya, and others.
