Kano Senator Orders Return of Vehicles from Defected NNPP Leaders to APC

Senator Rufai Hanga of Kano issued a directive for former NNPP leaders who defected to the APC to return vehicles provided by the NNPP. The letter, dated January 28, instructed the return of the vehicles by January 30, 2026.

The vehicles are to be returned to the Senator's office in Kano pending the resolution of the NNPP's internal crisis. This action comes after the defection of 22 members of the Kano State House of Assembly and 44 local government chairmen to the APC.

The move has sparked reactions, with some criticizing the demand for vehicle returns as inconsistent with past political practices in Kano. Prominent politician Abdussalam Abdulkarim, also known as Zaura, had previously distributed vehicles to party leaders without requesting returns.

However, he is now prepared to provide alternative vehicles to affected party leaders. Senator Hanga's spokesperson, Malam Dahiru Ahmad Maihuddadu, expressed readiness to support the affected leaders with better vehicles.
