Kano State: 22 Lawmakers, Including Speaker, Defect from NNPP to APC

In a significant political development in Kano State, Governor Kabir Abba Yusuf's resignation last Friday has triggered a mass defection of 22 members of the Kano State House of Assembly from the NNPP party to the APC party. The defectors include key figures such as Speaker Rt Hon Jibril Ismail Falgor Rogo, Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Muhammad Bello Butu Butu Tofa Rimin Gado, Major Leader Lawan Hussain Dala, and others.

This move is expected to bolster the APC's presence in the state and potentially influence the political dynamics ahead. Additionally, 13 existing APC members in the assembly are anticipated to defect, aligning with the governor and the 22 lawmakers.
