Ondo Man Arrested for Alleged Rape and Murder

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old man named Alabi Anthoni for the alleged rape and murder of a woman identified as Olaseni Veronica. The incident occurred in the Akoko North East Local Government Area.

According to the command's spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the suspect was apprehended following intelligence-led tracking of the victim's missing phone. During interrogation, Alabi Anthoni confessed to the crime, admitting to raping the victim and subsequently strangling her.

DSP Jimoh characterized the act as heinous and inhuman, assuring that the case would be transferred to the state headquarters in Akure for further investigation and prosecution.
