Nigerian Woman Arrested for Operating Brothel in Ghana

On April 19, 2026, Esther Egbuhama, a 28-year-old Nigerian woman, was arrested by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly operating a brothel in the Ashanti Region. The arrest took place during a police raid at a location identified as Mama Nice Lodge in Manso Watreso, following intelligence reports regarding illicit activities.

The operation was part of a broader initiative to clamp down on criminal operations within the area. Egbuhama was apprehended at the scene and subsequently taken to the Manso Nkwanta police station, where she is currently assisting with investigations.

Several individuals believed to be connected to the operation reportedly fled the scene during the police raid. The Ashanti South Region Police Command has reminded the public that operating a brothel is a criminal offense under Section 277 of the Criminal Offences Act, amended N.L.C.D. 398, paragraph 16.
