Three Arrested Over False Claims Against UBA's Elumelu

Three individuals, Kingslei Akunemeih, Chigozi Success Ihebom, and John Surpruchi Nwanoru, were arrested following a malicious publication regarding Tony Elumelu, the CEO of UBA Bank, which falsely claimed he was getting a divorce. UBA Bank issued a statement condemning the viral report as entirely fabricated and intended to mislead the public and damage Elumelu's reputation.

The bank confirmed that law enforcement authorities have begun a full investigation into the matter, which may lead to further arrests and prosecutions of individuals involved in the origin and amplification of these false claims. UBA Bank has urged the immediate removal of the content from public platforms and warned that failure to comply would result in legal action, including defamation claims and injunctive relief.
