Blogger Arraigned for Defaming UBA Chairman Elumelu

Surpruchi Nurenoru, a 19-year-old blogger, was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Lagos on charges of cyberstalking and defamation against Toni Elumelu, the Chairman of United Bank for Africa. Nurenoru faced four counts related to conspiracy and cyberstalking, as alleged by the prosecution.

The court was urged to remand Nurenoru in custody pending a bail application, which was adjourned to June 19, 2026, allowing time for the defense to prepare.
