Three Arrested for False Claims Against UBA Chairman

Three individuals, Kingslei Akunemeih, Chigozi Success Ihebom, and John Surpruchi Nwanoru, were arrested in connection with the dissemination of false and malicious publications about Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA). The bank issued a statement describing the viral reports alleging that Elumelu was divorcing his wife as entirely fabricated and malicious, intended to mislead the public and damage his reputation.

UBA emphasized its commitment to protecting the integrity and privacy of its leadership and brand. The matter has escalated to law enforcement, which has begun a full investigation, with potential for further arrests and prosecutions of individuals involved in amplifying these false claims.

UBA has urged the public to cease and desist from sharing such content and has called for the immediate removal of the defamatory material to preserve records for potential legal proceedings.
