Thirty Nigerian Referees Awarded FIFA Badges by NFF

On a recent occasion, thirty Nigerian referees were decorated with FIFA badges, a significant recognition in the officiating community. This announcement was made by Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Gusau urged the referees to maintain integrity in their officiating duties, particularly during league matches that will be televised. He highlighted the intention to increase coverage across thirty stations by the end of the season, ensuring that officiating is visible worldwide.

Furthermore, Gusau stated that any misconduct would not be tolerated, instructing the committee to withdraw badges from referees who perform poorly during matches. He emphasized that there would be no hiding place for improper conduct, especially with matches being broadcast live.

Referees were also warned that complaints regarding conduct must be submitted immediately after games, and disciplinary actions would be final. Among the thirty referees, there were four futsal referees, four beach soccer referees, eleven assistant referees, and eleven referees.
