34 Lawyers Fail Integrity Test for Judgeship in Nigeria's Federal High Court

A total of 34 lawyers nominated for appointment as judges in Nigeria's Federal High Court failed integrity tests conducted by the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC). The lawyers were shortlisted following a successful exam but were found unsuitable due to allegations of corruption and lack of integrity.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, emphasized the need for credible and competent individuals to be appointed to judicial offices. The FJSC received a petition against a nominee from Imo State accused of bribery and illegal property demolition.

The move aims to uphold the judiciary's integrity and credibility.
