34 Federal High Court Judge Nominees Fail Integrity Test in Nigeria

A report from the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) revealed that out of 62 lawyers shortlisted for appointment as judges in the Federal High Court, 34 failed integrity tests. The nominees, including a public official from Imo State, were accused of lacking integrity and being unsuitable for judicial roles.

The Nation Judicial Council (NJC) under Chief Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun initiated a new policy inviting public feedback on nominees to ensure credible and competent appointments. The failure of the nominees has raised concerns about the integrity of the Nigerian judiciary and the need for a transparent selection process.
