37 Miners Killed in Plateau Gas Leak Incident

On the morning of the incident, around 6:30 AM, 37 miners lost their lives due to a carbon monoxide gas leak at a mine in Plateau. The miners had just returned to the site after performing their morning prayers when they were suddenly affected by the gas leak.

Safiyanu Haruna, a miner, confirmed that 20 individuals sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Wase for treatment. The situation was dire, and there was no time for rescue efforts as the victims fell ill shortly after returning to the mine.

The local community is mourning the loss of these miners, and funeral prayers for the deceased are ongoing. As of now, local authorities have not commented on the incident, and the chairman of the local government area has been informed about the situation.
