Nigeria to Host 3rd National Para Sports Festival in 2026

The 3rd National Para Sports Festival is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 26, 2026. This festival is a flagship event in Nigeria's para sports calendar, aimed at bringing together athletes with disabilities from across the country to compete in a wide range of sporting events.

The opening ceremony will be led by Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, alongside Hon Bukola Olopade, Director General of the Commission. The event is designed to showcase resilience and the unifying power of sports, celebrating courage and breaking barriers to inspire a new generation of athletes.

The festival will feature multiple disciplines, including athletics, wheelchair basketball, para powerlifting, and amputee football. It serves as a critical platform for talent discovery and athlete development, preparing participants for international competitions, including qualification for global events sanctioned by the International Paralympic Committee.
