Shooting Stars Sports Club Blames Poor Pitch Condition on Dry Season, NPFL Mandates Venue Change

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has blamed the poor state of the pitch at Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on the dry season. The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has directed the club to seek an alternative venue as the current pitch is deemed unsuitable for hosting matches.

The NPFL Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeley, described the pitch's condition as embarrassing, leading to the need for a change in venue for upcoming matches, including the U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers. Efforts to improve the pitch quality, such as intensified maintenance and grass treatment, are underway despite the challenging weather conditions.

Shooting Stars Sports Club remains committed to providing a safe and professional playing environment. The club is set to play future home games at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta and Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
