NPFL Directs Shooting Stars to Choose New Stadium for Home Matches

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has instructed Shooting Stars to select a new stadium for their home matches following worries about the poor condition of the pitch at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. In a letter signed by NPFL's Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, the club was presented with the choice of moving to either the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos or the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta.

This decision was made to ensure the quality of matches, protect the welfare of players, officials, and broadcasters, and maintain the integrity of the league until significant improvements are made to the Lekan Salami Stadium pitch. Shooting Stars are expected to host their upcoming home fixture against Rivers United at the approved alternative venue.
