4 Brigade Wins 2026 2 Division Inter-Brigade Competition

The 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army was declared the overall winner of the 2026 2 Division Inter-Brigade competition, which took place in Benin City, Edo State, from April 20 to 23, 2026. The competition, hosted by the 4 Brigade at Ekehuan Cantonment, aimed to enhance combat proficiency, leadership skills, teamwork, and esprit de corps among junior rank soldiers.

Brigadier General Ahm Balogun, the commander of the 4 Brigade, emphasized that the competition was not solely about winning but also about fostering unity and resilience among the troops. Major General Chinedu Nnebeif, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 2 Division, expressed his appreciation for the event's organization and the commitment to personnel training and welfare.

The competition featured various activities, including drills, combat swimming, map reading, weapon handling, and obstacle courses, with 12 brigades participating. The 4 Brigade secured first place, followed by the 12 Brigade in second and the 2 Division Garrison in third.

The closing ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including heads of security agencies in Edo State.
