4 Brigade Wins 2 Division Inter-Brigade Competition

The 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army was declared the overall winner of the 2 Division inter-brigade competition held in Ekehuan, Benin City, from an unspecified date in 2026. Captain Kennedi Anyanwu, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 4 Brigade, disclosed this information in a statement released on Friday.

The competition featured participation from several brigades, including the 12 Brigade, which finished second, and the 22 Armoured Brigade, which came in third. The event included various competitive exercises such as drill, combat swimming, map reading, weapon handling, fire combat, cross-country racing, and obstacle crossing.

Brigadier General Ahm Balogun, the commander of the 4 Brigade, emphasized that the exercise aimed to enhance combat proficiency, leadership skills, teamwork, and esprit de corps among junior soldiers. Major General Adebayo Adegbit, the special guest of honor and commander of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the exercise, noting significant improvements in physical and mental capacities, as well as leadership and organizational abilities among participants.
