Five Family Members Buried After Ilorin Building Collapse

The bodies of five family members from Jekindero compound, who lost their lives in a three-story building collapse in the Popo-Giwa area of Ilorin, Kwara State, were buried at the Muslim Cemetery Oko-Olowo. The funeral rites were conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions.

Professor Abubakr Imam Ali-Agan, a renowned cleric and scholar from the University of Ilorin, led the funeral and encouraged Muslims to have faith in Allah and accept His will. He described death as inevitable and urged the victims' family to find solace in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, who indicated that such tragic deaths could lead to paradise.

Additionally, he called on the government to initiate public enlightenment campaigns to raise awareness about preventing similar disasters. The state governor, Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazak, had previously visited the victims' family and was represented at the funeral by his special adviser on special duties, Alh Abdulrazaq Jiddah.
