Gunmen Attack Benue Community, Leaving Five Dead

A tragic incident occurred over the weekend in Tse Ameen community, located in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, where at least five individuals were killed during an attack by suspected armed invaders. The attack took place on Saturday night, and residents reported that five bodies were recovered, with several others missing.

Among the deceased were three males and two females. The police's public relations officer, DSP Udem Edet, confirmed that four bodies had been recovered but declined to provide further details.

In response to the violence, Governor Hyacinth Alia expressed his sympathies to the affected families and called on security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators. He also urged the community to support efforts to eliminate criminal elements in the area.
